How can I get involved in my child's science class?
I will be posting various items under the Wish List that would help enhance your child's experience in my classroom. For instance, we will be doing many hands-on lab activities that pique their interest and get them engaged in DOING science. These activities take a lot of materials and preparation. If you would like to bring in supplies for our labs, please refer to the list below that will show what items would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate materials simply have your student bring them in at any time before we perform the lab. IT IS NOT MANDATORY FOR YOU TO SUPPLY THESE MATERIALS!!!
Also, if you have a career or area of expertise that you would like to share with other students I am very open to having you come and speak to the class. It is always important for children to see the various jobs that use science principles. They need to know that it doesn't mean you have to be a rocket scientist for NASA to be considered in the field of science, but nursing assistants, firefighters, property and land surveyors, construction workers, etc. all deal with chemicals, biology, and physics principles every day!!
Make sure your student has a composition notebook dedicated to Science. We will be using the Interactive Notebook format which will include using foldables, notes, articles, drawings and poetry!
